Annika Moses / Nika Mo
Annika Moses / Nika Mo

Annika is the busiest person at SongFest!   She first came to our attention as a member of the Eneksis WAAPA choir and last year also was part of the wonderful Darling ensemble.  This year we asked Annika to present a workshop (dont miss it!) and also by the way she is filling in for Ko-Ko too.  And Eneksis is here too of course!

Nika Mo is Annika's folk project and for the Dunsborough Song Festival 2019 she brings a set of intricate a cappella arrangements of folk originals. Performing entirely solo, Annika uses a loop pedal to create weaving vocal harmonies, laying a bed for her honest lyrics that find poeticism in the Perth mundane. Her appearance at Fairbridge Festival last year left the crowd 'silent for the most part, totally enthralled by her storytelling abilities and sweet voice,' (X-Press Magazine).

Close Harmony
Close Harmony

We are Close Harmony, a community choir established in 2006. We deliver a haunting and harmonious four-part sound. Under the new Directorship of talented and vibrant Jordan Dunne, our A Capella repertoire is an eclectic mix of contemporary and classical, global and personal, romantic and intimate, spirited and upbeat, gospel to blues, country and international, the elegantly simple or whimsical, or the challenge of more demanding pieces.

It's a mixed choir: men and women, young and old, novice to experienced. We revel in the joy of singing, having fun within the friendship of others who share the love of music and harmony and the unbridled energy that music brings to us individually and collectively. We welcome new members who love to sing believing that everyone can add to our sound. Our atmosphere is warm and welcoming. New and old embrace a culture of joy through music. In that magic moment we can sing to a different beat.

The Eneksis choir from the West Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) has a reputation as one of Australia's finest ensembles.  Directed by WAAPA's Director of Choral Studies Micheal McCarthy, Eneksis continues to dazzle audiences despite changing line ups each year as students pass through.  Dunsborough SongFest has been lucky to have Eneksis as a constant supporter of the festival.  Make sure you catch them on Saturday night and look out around town on Saturday morning as they may pop-up in a shopping centre near you...

Micheal will also take his popular Saturday morning workshop where you can join the choir as they go through warm up routines and preparations to sing.  Absolute must do.

They rehearse at the Glyde-in centre each Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm and anyone is welcome, especially blokes, because as you can see, they are a little gender unbalanced at the moment.

Lowlands Beach Community Choir

Proclaimed by an anonymous (spooky) choir director to be the "fourth highest emotionally competent choir in the world", Lowlands Beach Community Choir is a group of friends from the tiny South Coast region of Youngs Siding. When they are not growing organic vegetables, milking cows, building houses, designing websites, practicing Jungian psychology or having a good ol' time at Lowlands Beach, this eclectic group loves to gather at sundown under the guidance of their glorious choir mistress Jude Iddison and sing their little hearts out. They sing a soulful and uplifting repertoire of original songs and classics including traditional, Noongar, Maori and African music, with arrangements by Jude and some of Australia’s leading choral arrangers.
A lot of fun and a little bit spicy…cos that’s what is all about!

The Men of the West are serious. Unsmiling, imperturbable and serious about their business. And our hats. We will regale you with songs that are tender and songs that are side-splittingly funny; original songs, startling arrangements of popular tunes; songs from the Men's time-honoured repertoire and introducing new material. All presented with rich harmonies, theatricality and a pretence of grandeur.

Music Group Izvor is bringing Serbian music tradition to Australian public. Our repertoire mainly consists of Serbian sacred (in Old Slavic) and secular music, traditional and folk songs. However, we enjoy singing in different languages from Balkan regions and occasionally experiment with some contemporary pieces.
The choir was founded 3 years ago by the group of enthusiasts and is directed by Dragana Jerinic. We participate in Harmony Day celebrations in the City and recently performed in Golden Koala Festival in Fremantle.

No Rechoirments

In simple terms, No Rechoirments was started by a group of people who wanted to get together and sing. Founded about five years ago, we're a non-auditioned choir with a repertoire ranging from Tallis to Paul Kelly. We'll have a go at singing anything. They boast a lofty claim of having no requirements but this is in fact, a fallacy, for there are several requirements.

For example: cake and tea is a must before rehearsal. Anyone is welcome. You must have fun.

We hope that we you to sing, whomever you may be, without requirement.
