Your Song weekend in Fremantle!

Friday night at the Navy Club:

SongFest “Taster” at the Navy Club, 64 Hight St Fremantle.  See who going to be performing over the weekend.  Social night with full bar service and free supper.  Great night!

Saturday morning at St Paul’s:

We have arranged two workshops on Saturday morning to teach the festival songs.  One will feature Jemma King teaching “The Acknowledgement Song” which we hope all groups will learn and use when they perform.  We will use it multiple times over the weekend.  At the other workshop Digby Hill will teach three very different World Music songs that span the globe.  All these songs will be sung together at the Saturday night Festival Club at Victoria Hall and again at the Festival Finale on Sunday.

Saturday afternoon:

All groups will perform a 25 minute set (20 mins singing plus 5 mins changeover) in three venues – St Paul’s Church, St Paul’s Hall and Victoria Hall in Fremantle.  All performers are asked to observe Songfest Etiquette which means staying in your venue before and after you perform to support the other groups in your concert.

Saturday Evening at Victoria Hall:

After the afternoon concerts, singers are invited to find themselves dinner in Fremantle before returning to Victoria Hall (179 High St) for the Festival Club social event at 7:00pm.  There will be a short selection of performances, then we will all sing the Workshop songs together.  This will be followed by each choir leading everyone in a song of their choice. Finally Malcolm Tsang (MD7) will lead the huge “Tsangalong” which promises to be quite a blast!  The bar will be open and some snacks available too.  We’ll keep singing till you go home.

Sunday:

We will all meet back at St Paul’s at 10:30am.  Please note the church service will be on until then so please stay clear until invited in.  Simultaneous concerts will take place in the Church and outside in the Amphitheatre.  Each group will sing two songs in each venue.  Brunch will be served all morning and at the end of the concerts, about 12:45, we will all sing the Workshop songs together as the Finale.
