Dunsborough's own Cleanskins have been closely linked to Dunsborough SongFest since its inception in 2010. Many of the choir members are a part of the merry volunteers who run the festival each year, including Festival Co-ordinator Judy Waterman.
Like good wines they are ageing well, showing variety and complexity and most of them with a good nose. Some are known to get a little bit corked and some are a little late harvested, however they have had a long time to breathe, have excellent balance and a sweet finish, coming together in a harmonious way, which is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Decant and enjoy now.

We are Close Harmony, a community choir established in 2006. We deliver a haunting and harmonious four-part sound. Under the Directorship of talented and vibrant Jordan Dunne, our A Capella repertoire is an eclectic mix of contemporary, global, romantic, intimate, spirited and upbeat, the elegantly simple or whimsical, or the challenge of more demanding pieces.
It's a mixed choir, men and women, young and old, novice to experienced. We revel in the joy of singing, having fun within the friendship of others who share the love of music and harmony and the unbridled energy that music brings to us individually and collectively. We welcome new members who love to sing believing that everyone can add to our sound. Our atmosphere is warm and welcoming. New and old embrace a culture of joy through music.

Echoes of Ukraine: A Choir of Resilience and Hope
Echoes of Ukraine is a choir born out of a need to support those displaced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Renowned for their love of culture, Ukrainians have shown the world their strength and determination through music, art, and dance. Music, in particular, has the power to bring together people of different ages and backgrounds, supporting them through various stages of their life’s journey.
Supporting New Arrivals
Supporting our new arrivals during this difficult time, even in this small way, is both an honor and a privilege. The choir’s journey began when a friend requested help in finding singers for a fundraiser for Ukraine. Organizing such an event was daunting, but during the Twilight Market for the Rotary Club, a group of Ukrainians spontaneously started singing. Seizing the moment, I invited anyone who wanted to sing to join a get-together. From that call out, Echoes of Ukraine was born.
Raising Awareness Through Music
Since its inception, the choir has participated in numerous festivals, rallies, and concerts, bringing awareness to the greater community about Ukraine and its current plight. Our members include people displaced by the war, earlier immigrants, and those born in Australia.
Meet Our Conductor
Our conductor, Volodymyr Liaschenko, hails from Cherkasy University in Ukraine. He arrived in Australia with his wife after the war began. Under his guidance, we sing a mixture of traditional and modern Ukrainian songs, ranging from humorous and uplifting to deeply spiritual.
A Community United
Echoes of Ukraine is more than just a choir; it is a community united by a shared love for music and a commitment to supporting each other through challenging times. We are proud to share our culture and stories with the world, one song at a time.

For choral treats with a side of feminism, check out Hengequeens: a feminist pop choir made up of people marginalised by the patriarchy, conducted by musician and academic Dr Claire Coleman, singing on Whadjuk country since May 2021. We sing originals and covers in bespoke 3-6 part arrangements.
The popular (and not-so-popular!) songs we sing are by, for and about women and non-binary people. We want our sets to amplify and promote a range of voices, experiences and creative expressions. After we smash the patriarchy, we eat a lot of cake. A pox on setlists full of white dudes!

Join with the Lost Quays and prepare for the calm and the storm, with shanties and other songs of the sea!
Singing both a cappella, and with a sprinkling of guitar, ukulele and concertina, we perform with energy and good humour, and relish a strong audience connection. As well as traditional material, and nautical folk material from around the world, there’s many an original song.
Based in the port of Fremantle, where we host an informal monthly ‘Shanty Club’ at Clancy’s Fish Pub, we’ve sailed in numerous festivals and events across Western Australia, with a European tour in 2018.

See the all singing and sometimes dancing Men of the West as men of a “certain age” with the occasional youngster thrown in for good measure, sing through a repertoire of originals, Georgian songs and unusual covers.
Men of the West are a dark, behatted behemoth of blokes, who first mysteriously appeared at Fairbridge Festival in 2005 and since then has materialised at the Adelaide Fringe, Denmark Festival of the Voice and various Songfests in and around Perth.
Ably led by Ryan Nicholson, the Men of the West valiantly attempt to redefine the predicament of the modern man, while attempting to scale the peaks of pointless grandeur. Their material also includes entertaining originals from the pen of Stephen Taberner.

Voiceworks is a four-part show choir that has been based in Shenton Park since 2005.
Under the guidance of our fabulously talented Musical Director, Jackson Griggs, and Show Director and accompanist, Joshua James Webb, we stage new original shows every year using songs from a range of genres including pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, and traditional.
As a show choir, we do more than make beautiful music. We also include costume, lighting, “choralography”, humorous scripts, and audience participation to make sure that our performances are always great entertainment!
Voiceworks welcomes everyone. No previous experience is required, just an interest in singing, learning, and having fun!
