Dear Choir Singers!

Kalgoorlie’s Two Up Two Down Community Choir is excited to announce that registrations are open for this years Kalgoorlie Desert Heart SongFest. We are thrilled to say that our former Music Director, Michael May, is back with us and is looking forward to welcoming you all back to Kalgoorlie.

Here is an outline of the programme we have lined up:

Dates: 16th, 17th and 18th August.

Friday night – Meet and greet – each group sings one song

Saturday morning – Choirs will sing in a variety of venues around town.

Saturday afternoon – free time for rehearsals

Saturday evening – The Main Concert open to the public. Each choir to sing a 20 min set. Sat night after-party – We will take you by bus to a large hotel to party Songfest style.

Sunday morning – Choirs will be allotted to a Church of their own choice. The Vietnam Service in the Park will be open to anyone who would like to join in (you may be interested in brushing up on the Australian National Anthem!)

Festival finale with a BBQ lunch at a selected venue where Choirs will be able to sing as well.

We will return you to the station in time for the train at 2.00pm.

Important information:

A – Cost – $65.00 per person which includes transport, Fri night supper and Sun lunch.

B – Accommodation – Probably the hardest so book early

C – Weather – Will be cool.

D – Registration form – Will be sent out in approximately 2 weeks

Updates will be sent out from time to time. Once a choir has registered we will send out the songs for the mass choir and details of what will be required.
