Dunsborough SongFest Press Release

Dunsborough SongFest 07 – 09 November 2025

40 Vocal Ensembles to Gather for Annual SongFest in Dunsborough

All over Western Australia, choirs are sharpening their repertoire for the annual pilgrimage which is Dunsborough SongFest. This year’s festival is over the weekend of 7-9 November.
Festival Overview
The iconic SongFest, now in its 15th year, has proven to be a great hit with both singers and the public alike. Choir singing is also rising in popularity as more people discover the social and mental health benefits of singing together. Dunsborough SongFest gives many of those community choirs a chance to come together to perform.
Festival Origins and Leadership
Festival director Matthew Clements explained that the initial idea, developed with co-director Judy Waterman, was to give community choirs an opportunity to shine in the spotlight. What they didn’t anticipate was that a cross section of the best vocal ensembles in the land would eagerly join the event.
Headline Acts and Featured Performers
SongFest will feature one of Australia’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Bernard Carney, as well as barbershop chorus champions The Baden Street Singers. Joining them are current gold medal Men’s Quartet champions The Electric Barbercats and this year’s Sweet Adeline chorus champions, Perth Harmony Chorus.
Mixed quartet Broken Record, another medal-winning group, will appear in Saturday evening’s two highlight concerts. Other standout acts include Hive Mind, A Cappella West, Ebb Tide Men, the vibrant mass choir Menagerie, Voiceworks, and the entertaining ancient music specialists Psallite.
Diverse Talents Across Multiple Venues
Showcasing the festival’s remarkable depth of talent, classical chamber group Quorum, shanty ensemble She Shants, and crowd favourites The Real Sing, Men of the West, and Voicemale will perform alongside 30 other groups on Saturday afternoon. These performances will take place across five venues around Dunsborough.
Concerts and Ticketing Information
Two Saturday evening concerts on 08 November are scheduled for the Old Dunsborough Hall at 5:00pm and the OLC Primary School Hall at 7:30pm. Tickets for both concerts remain available online at the songfest.com.au website or through Trybooking.com.
Free Performances and Community Engagement
In addition to ticketed events, there will be free public performances around the Dunsborough shopping precinct on Saturday morning. Audiences can catch these acts near the Coles supermarket and in the IGA atrium. Over the weekend, there are 13 concerts and 3 workshops, culminating in two short-form concerts on Sunday morning where audiences can experience a variety of performances. Full program and ticketing details are available at www.songfest.com.au .
Local Talent and Workshop Participation
Matthew Clements highlighted the involvement of local groups, including the talented and always entertaining Cleanskins, the popular quartet SSB, emerging act Sunny Side Up, and Capel’s Voices of the Vasse.
Everyone is welcome to join the three workshops on Saturday morning and become part of the festival. No singing experience is required. Further details can be found on the website.
Venues and Festival Atmosphere
“Dunsborough SongFest is uniquely Dunsborough in flavour, with live music taking place in various community venues including the Old Dunsborough Hall, Our Lady of Cape Primary School, St George Anglican Church, and Our Lady of the Southern Cross Catholic Church. The involvement of town centre venues ensures the event is accessible to everyone.”
